2025 Ford Expedition Tremor Edition Review
Hey everyone, we just got something really special on the lot here at Mark Martin Motors. It is the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor Edition, and this marks the very first year Ford has given the Expedition the Tremor treatment. It is a wild, futuristic, and highly capable SUV built to rival the Chevy Tahoe Z71, Tahoe RST, and GMC Yukon AT4. Let's dive right into what makes this rig so unique.
Massive Power and Off-Road Chops
The 3.5 High Output EcoBoost Engine
Under the hood, Ford gave this beast the 3.5-liter high output EcoBoost motor. You are looking at a ridiculous 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. We took this exact model out for a spin, and it absolutely rips. It is incredibly fast for a vehicle of this size.
Towing and Trail Ready
Even with all that speed, you can still pull a heavy load. These are rated to tow up to around 9,000 pounds, so taking your camper or trailer out for the weekend is no sweat. Because it is a Tremor package, you also get off-road tuned shocks with terrain mode adjustments, trail control, high clearance off-road running boards, and a specific 18-inch factory wheel with off-road tires. It also features Trail Turn Assist, which can practically self-parallel park the vehicle by turning it incredibly tight on trails.
Exterior Styling and the Tremor Gold
If you know the Tremor lineup, you know they love their gold accents. This Expedition features gold accents on the wheels, front grille, and even textured gold tow hooks. While some of us might prefer a totally blacked-out look, Ford loyalists are going to love the unique Tremor touches. The rest of the SUV features flat, neutral tones like gray and black, and completely blacked-out Ford emblems with zero chrome, giving it a mean, modern stance.
A Spaceship Interior and Smart Storage
Jumping inside is where things get really futuristic. The steering wheel and recessed dash layout make it feel like you are commanding a spaceship. Ford integrated almost everything into the massive dual screens, including driver memory presets and steering wheel adjustments, keeping the doors and dash remarkably clean.
Perfect for Families on the Go
The space inside is just incredible, thanks to Ford's wider interior design. The second row features massive, comfortable bucket seats with huge armrests. You will find USB-C charging ports tucked everywhere, from the trunk to the rear cup holders. Speaking of kids, Ford nailed it by including a built-in iPad holder in the second row instead of those bulky headrest screens that always get kicked and bumped.
Out back, there is a brand new split liftgate design where the top and bottom open separately. The bottom portion drops down to give you an extendable table that is perfect for tailgating, working, or quick diaper changes on the fly. You also get plenty of spare storage in the trunk area, even with the power-folding third-row seats.
Tech that Makes Sense
You get a full 360-degree camera system that lets you watch your wheels turn, heated and cooled seats, and a massive panoramic sunroof. It is also wired for BlueCruise hands-free driving, complete with the eye-monitoring camera on the dash. One huge plus over GM models is that the built-in Google Maps navigation works entirely for free without needing an active connected services subscription.
